Coaching for Health Professionals
Working in healthcare, complex and challenging encounters with patients are part of everyday life. As a highly experienced coach, having worked in the NHS lookingafteryoutoo service during and post-Covid, I provide coaching for health professionals, offering your staff an expert, non-judgemental, supportive environment to:
- Develop a better understanding of their situation.
- Improve direction and focus.
- Explore new ways to approach challenges to achieve their goals.
- Support their wellbeing.
The underlying principle of coaching is that every person has the potential to develop their own solutions and improve their performance. Coaching will help your staff become more resourceful, motivated, confident and self-aware, taking constructive action to achieve outcomes. Coaching can contribute to staff physical and mental wellbeing. Supporting staff in this way increases productivity, removes staff absence and improves the quality of patient care.
One-to-one coaching
I have extensive experience in delivering one-to-one coaching for health professionals with a wide variety of healthcare staff to support self-development, wellbeing and resilience. As a coach who understands the context and details of working in healthcare, I use a person-centred, psychological approach to support your staff to grow professionally and develop skills to manage difficult situations.
Group coaching
Group coaching for health professionals may be useful for teams who are facing similar challenging situations. I have used this approach with groups of 4-10 people where groups benefit from the chance to discuss challenges. By providing a safe space to talk about feelings in an inclusive nurturing environment, group coaching helps your staff to develop trust and belonging. It facilitates learning from each other to find ways to be resilient, positive and to support their physical and mental health and wellbeing. When your staff are happy, you deliver the best care to your patients.
What my clients say:
`I have known Nina since 2009. She is a visionary leader who is able to encourage, motivate, and develop to bring out the very best in each individual. She is a natural coach, with exceptional listening skills and knows exactly when to ask the right, meaningful and appropriate questions, to get you to think and have faith in yourself. Nina provides support which has enabled me to develop myself not only in my current role, but preparing me to reach for future goals, both professionally and personally. I have learnt the valuable skill of effectively contributing at senior leadership forums and having the confidence to “sit at the big table”.’
Lead Pharmacist in Care of Older People, London
Nina was fantastic in our sessions together. I felt a bit clueless about my career and my life during the first session but by the final session I felt a huge weight had lifted. She had listened to me and taught me how to reflect and not put pressure on myself. I am very grateful for her support
Allied health professional, England
`I’ve worked with Nina over the last 12 months [2019-2020] and have found our one-to-one sessions to be inspiring and insightful. The sessions were extremely beneficial as I made the leap into the next phase of my career. Nina has helped further develop my leadership abilities and supported me to unlock a number of challenging situations. I always come away from our sessions with a renewed sense of energy and enthusiasm, able to view challenges from a completely new perspective. I would highly recommend.’
Consultant Pharmacist, Wales
Really lovely clinician and I really did feel listened to. Saying things out loud to someone made me feel that I am being too hard on myself. I am going to try and put an action in place.

`After finishing my undergraduate pharmacy degree in India, my ambition was to further my career in Clinical Pharmacy. Having come from a completely different pharmaceutical background and from a different country, I found it extremely hard to cope with the stress and strain of the MSc Clinical Pharmacy course here in the UK. I was fortunate to have had Nina as my clinical tutor and mentor [for approx. 20 years], who was kind enough to share her valuable skills and experiences in guiding me through the course. This not only increased my confidence to finish the course successfully, but also had set the foundation for who I am as an Independent Pharmacist Prescriber working in a large GP practice.’
